Tales from Harry Potter ...

Michael and I are reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (the first in the series). We just started on Monday and so far so good. It is all I can do not to read ahead while Michael sleeps - but alas, I will not!

My favorite part of the reading is Michael and I talking about what we are reading. I will be certain to document the most endearing parts here - if only to be able to torment Michael with them when he is older.

From last night...
Mommy (reading the book): "... And Dudley's face fell."
Michael: "You mean that his face fell off?"

Update from the eye of the storm...

Or not the eye really, but again I am going for the dramatics!

I am not at the house, as I am working (hey - someone's gotta make the money to pay for that crappy leak!). But I have a reporter on the scene who indicates that a tree has fallen on a portion of our back fence. Rest assured, I will have pictures to you shortly!

Oh, we've got trouble my friends...

Trouble with a capital T! Yikes!

Hurricane Dennis is on his merry way and while Tallahassee is probably pretty safe ... our house is being seiged by a crappy leak! I, as the roving reporter of the family, have not dissappointed my two readers. I was on the scene to take photos...

Caption: Leak! In the garage! Will I ever find the exact shade of orange once the ceiling and wall are patched?! Keep reading my blog (I am full of exciting teasers to keep you reading!)

Caption: An action shot! Stu with a bucket! Hurricanes encourage the use of exclamation points!

Caption: Stu is happy to be scraping out the innards of the roof of our garage! He loves insulation down his shirt - it's not itchy, no it's not!

We laugh, because what else can we do? I promise, dear readers (and I use the plural loosely!), that I will keep you up to date with the latest information. Consider me the Weather Channel ... with less drama!

My 4th of July

I worked this morning and left at 1:30. Michael and Stu were already at Fun Station and going to a movie after, so I came on home and did the domestic goddess thing - did some dishes, washed some clothes, whipped up an entire wardrobe with but a yard of fabric, needle and thread. I am fancy.

Then, the boys came home. Dinner was eaten, and now to the exciting part...

One Boy sleeping.

Another Boy Sleeping.

And it is only 7:30 pm ... we lead exciting lives!

Quotable Quotes...part 1

Michael: When I was in your belly, I ate all of your crumbs.

Love that kid.
